Hey there!

We’re four final-year students from Nanyang Technological University's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, & as part of our final-year project, we wanted to create something that really matters to us. As we started this project, we tried a bunch of different topics, but nothing really clicked—until we started talking about our money troubles.

We realised we all had worries about the future, unexpected costs, & understanding how to manage our finances. That’s when we discovered the idea of FIRE—Financial Independence, Retire Early.

As we dug into Reddit & read inspiring stories about others chasing FIRE, we realised it’s all about finding ways to manage money that fit our lives. We’re excited to explore this idea, learn from the pros, & share what we discover with other young people who might be feeling the same. Let’s see what we can bring to light together while Playing with FIRE 🔥

Always ordering the same $3.50 caifan order & trying all sorts of side hustles– from banquets, scrubbing cars, to sweating it out in warehouses. My dream? Retire early & see the world before my knees give way. For now, I’m feeling the burn, but i’ve got a future home to work for.

Once called the “Capitalist Society’s Favourite Consumer” by my best friend, I used to spend recklessly. Now, I’m on my FIRE journey— ready to trade impulse buys for sipping margaritas in the Maldives next time.
